The TRUTH…Nobody’s Listening! (Continued…)

The TRUTH…Nobody’s Listening! (Continued…)
As I wrote on yesterday, We ALL say that We want to have the TRUTH told to Us but We can’t seem to take it. It tends to be too much for a lot of Us. I feel that We have become so accustomed to the LIES and the telling of LIES to Us that We have come to a point where, even though, the LIES are hurting Us and keeping Us from progressing individually, relationally, socially, SPIRITUALLY, nationally and Worldly, that We are simply
comfortable in the LIES. Then, when We are offered or are given the TRUTH it sounds so foreign to Us that We tell Ourselves that it can’t be TRUE, ‘IT,’ as they say,
‘Hits Us where it Hurts!’ and We run from it because We don’t like the way the TRUTH makes Us feel. Our Toes ache, Our stomachs churn, Our Minds reel, Our Egos are bruised, We begin to question Ourselves and/or the TRUTH compels Us to look in the Mirror, with tears in Our eyes knowing that We should be questioning the LIES that We feel to be fact. So much consternation caused by the TRUTH but it’s what We need…

We awaken everyday of Our lives to LIES, whether through the media, Our family and friends, people that We meet and worst of ALL, the LIES that We tell Ourselves, when the TRUTH is in Our face beckoning to Us to accept it. We even attend Church, the very place where there should be nothing less than the TOTAL TRUTH and receive LIES. We fall for these LIES or settle for them because We want acceptance and the approval of
others in Our lives. We don’t want anyone to think that We are different or that We see things in a different way than they do, which would cause Us to be on the ‘outside’ of the circle.
(Oh, No! Can’t be on the outside of
the ‘Circle of Acceptance.’)
Everyone from Presidents, to Leaders, to Ministers, to Preachers, to Teachers, those that We are to TRUST, and Us, not telling the TRUTH so as to be accepted by the masses, a SAD case indeed…

But, those among the People, the ‘TRUTH TELLERS,’ who are far and few between in a world of carbon copies, the Ones that don’t allow the acceptance of the masses to keep them from telling the TRUTH…The Ones that know that the telling of the TRUTH will in time Free Us ALL from the LIES that plague Us…The Ones that don’t mind being called ‘Fools’ or ‘Different’ or ‘Unusual.’ The Ones that are told that they should ‘Just give the People what they want or what they can handle,’ which is what is hurting them anyway, and continue to offer the People the TRUTH, even when they hate it and are pointing the finger back at them for the telling of the TRUTH that ‘Stumped their Toes.’ The ones that those that don’t like the TRUTH, try to do ALL that they can to silence or to deter them from the continued telling of the TRUTH. The ones that see the TRUTH through the LIES in front of them and have to keep the Courage so as not to fall for the LIES themselves as they are telling the TRUTH…

My Friend…My Reader…Think about this. TRUTH or LIES? Which do You want to be told?

Shallow…

Shallow…

‘Inner BEAUTY is important but not nearly as important as outer BEAUTY.’

-Ellen Degeneres ‘Cover Girl Commercial’

Watching the progression of the initialization of the OWN Network this Morning, the Cover Girl commercial with Ellen Degeneres came on and she proclaimed…’Inner BEAUTY is important but not nearly important as outer BEAUTY.’ When I heard this, I was in SHOCK and said to Myself, ‘What the #@*$! What is Cover Girl thinking? Is this the message they want to send out to Women and Men alike, about what’s important as we interact and engage with each other in society?’ Again…another SAD Case for Society!

As I think about this commercial, I can’t help but to think about ALL of the messages out there today that are being thrown in our faces daily through television, print and radio about surface BEAUTY being the thing that we should be focused on and not our INNER BEAUTY, making us ALL the same to a certain extent and causing us to be Robots or Copies of each other. (Just call it the ‘Kinko’s Syndrome) These ads continue to send out the wrong messages to us ALL, causing insecurity, low self-esteem and a lack of confidence in most of us that pay attention to them, causing FEAR in us, saying to us that, ‘…if you don’t LOOK this way or if you don’t match Society’s idea of BEAUTY, you are an outcast or you aren’t BEAUTIFUL…’ This is utter BS!

Not only is this message sent out in commercials like the Cover Girl commercial but it’s sent out in MOST ads we see today. From automobile ads, to chewing gum ads, to soda pop ads, ads selling water, even books. Through these ads it is projected that if you don’t drive this or if you don’t chew this or if you don’t drink this…to if you don’t read this, you are not BEAUTIFUL and if you want to be BEAUTIFUL, you best do like Society says and get with it. I hate this because we are ALL different and we are not supposed to be the same or have the same things and we are definitely not supposed to project our BEAUTY in the same way. People…let’s not fall for this Lie, this FICTION…

No matter what Society proclaims through its ads, don’t allow any of it to tell you and have you believe that you are not BEAUTIFUL because you don’t match its ideal of BEAUTY. You are already BEAUTIFUL, My Friend and Cover Girl nor anyone else has anything to do with it. And to those that fall for the BS…’I hope that you gain some TRUE Confidence and be your TRUE Self not what Society tells you to be.’ Whether it’s Ellen speaking or anyone else…

 ‘I’M BEAUTIFUL! YOU ARE TOO!”

(Oh…And, Ellen…You’re Cool with Me…)

ME…

In My travels I’ve learned that the traits We’d rush to get rid of are the very ones that others desire to have for themselves. People always covet what they don’t have. We should look into the mirror and say, ‘I LOVE who I am and how I am made! GOD doesn’t make mistakes!’ Its ALL LOVE and it starts with LOVING Yourself!

FAUX CONFIDENCE

Faux Confidence

‘The River does not constantly scream about its power and ability, it simply flows by silently and calmly, knowing what it’s capable of. We should be more like the River…’

                                                                                                –Friedrich Nietzsche

                                                                                                (Emphasis Mine)

Confidence… What is Confidence? How do we project the fact that we possess Confidence? Is Confidence something we learn to project or is it something we simply project naturally? Does Confidence have anything to do with the things outside of us or our acquired intelligence? Are Confident individuals the ones who ‘scream’ about their Confidence, seeming as if they have no insecurities? Or, are Confident individuals the ones who have the courage to admit their insecurities and fears but still stand Confident in the face of them? Is Confidence the material things we purchase for ourselves? Confidence… What is Confidence?

In today’s society, I feel that most forms of Confidence projected by individuals is ‘Faux Confidence,’ Confidence which has nothing to do with who the individual truly is within but that type of Confidence that is a façade or a show performed for those outside of them to make it seem as if they are Confident. Most times I’ve noticed that ‘Faux Confidence’ is projected through BIG talk, material things, name calling, trying to ‘One Up’ everyone else and always having to have the last Word or the need to be right. Those individuals projecting ‘Faux Confidence’ over compensate for the Confidence that they really do not possess by performing an act while interfacing with the public, friends or family to cover up their real insecure self.

Individuals in possession of ‘Faux Confidence’ are usually oblivious to the fact that they possess this type of confidence. They go throughout their lives, day to day, performing for those outside of them and then withdrawing when they are alone, possibly facing their fears and insecurities but simultaneously denying the fact that they are not as Confident as they project to others. In their OBLIVION, they have no idea that the Confidence that they project to others contradicts most, if not ALL of the things that they say. These individuals will speak of their strength, security, Courage, FAITH and Heart but in the same breath they’ll speak of how much they worry, what they can’t do, how they can’t vision a bright future, how their relationships don’t work and ‘When will things get better?’ (If you listen closely you can hear it. Shhh…)

That is not Confidence! That is ‘Faux Confidence!’ I feel that true Confidence does not have to be spoken. It does not have to be heard. It does not feel as if it has to be projected for all to see. True Confidence is projected NATURALLY, with no assistance from the individual possessing it. Those with True Confidence, not only talk the talk, they walk the walk. It is shown in whatever they do. Those with True Confidence are not afraid to allow the real individual that they are within to shine through. They allow their insecurities to be known, they face their Fears instead of running from them, they know their worth without things outside of them being added to the equation and they not only have FAITH, they have and ‘practice’ Active FAITH. All of the above takes True Courage, Heart and Bravery and all these equal True Confidence.

Confidence is not just who you are or what you are with and around others. It’s who and what you are when you are alone. Confidence allows you to be the same at all times, whether you are alone, in the company of friends, family or strangers. Confidence does not LIE about who you are, it allows you to be TRUE to You in all scenarios and provides you the ability to never have to put on a façade or wear a mask. You have the ability to show up NAKED and be Confident in your NAKEDNESS when you possess True Confidence.

My Friend…Think about it?

Do you possess ‘Faux Confidence’ or are you akin to the River?

FAITH IS…

FAITH IS…

‘Your FAITH is what you believe, not what you know.’

                                                -John Spaulding

FAITH IS…Expecting something from nothing. FAITH IS…Expecting those things that are not yet in the Natural. FAITH IS…Believing in something that seems ‘unbelievable.’ FAITH IS…Giving ALL to GOD and allowing HIM to take care of you, with no assistance from you. FAITH IS…Being ignorant to the impossible. FAITH IS…Stepping out to do the impossible and knowing that it is possible. FAITH IS…Praying to GOD and leaving your request with HIM ‘knowing’ that HE will answer in due time. FAITH IS…Confidence in yourself and what you are setting out to accomplish. FAITH IS…No worry about tomorrow. FAITH IS…Not just waiting but ‘Waiting Actively’ with patience, doing what you can do and knowing that GOD is and will DO the rest. FAITH IS…Quieting the voices of pessimists and listening to your Heart’s leading. FAITH IS…Knowing that you are enough just as you are and right where you are. FAITH IS…Always needed and should always be practiced. FAITH IS…What Heroes are made of. FAITH IS

FAITH IS

FAITH IS

FAITH IS

Exactly what you see after the 3 little dots…

My Friend, exercise your FAITH every day.

Smile Lines…It’s All Natural Process…

Smile Lines…It’s All Natural Process…

“I wanna be Old and Gray when GOD come get Me…”

                                                                -Ceelo ‘GoodieMob’ Green

Growing Old…I’m sorry…Correction. ‘Growing OLDER,’ is something that we should ALL embrace and see as a gift and a Blessing from GOD. It is GOD’s gift to us and HIS telling us that HE has more work for us to do in this World and that HE wants us around to educate and teach those generations following us. Growing OLDER is our mark of Wisdom and our ‘seasoning’ that GOD prints upon us to show that we have been here for awhile and that we are not to be reckoned with. Growing OLDER is a ‘Tattoo of LOVE.’

The lines printed upon our faces like maps drawn by Men, the Graying of our hair like paths through the Forests, the Words of Wisdom that we speak that may be foreign to the Youth, the Ideals that we take on that we never Dreamed we would, the ways that we move as we grow OLDER, are ALL gifts and should be seen as such. I witness a majority of humans not embracing their gift of aging as they color their hair…As they have surgery done to remove the lines in their faces…As they dress in a way that is years younger than they are…As they try their BEST to stay young or to hide their true age. Now, to each his or her own, and there is nothing wrong with doing those things, but I feel that GOD meant for us to appreciate our Growing OLDER, our aging and to feel confident and comfortable with it, not to hide it or be ashamed of it. Some of us sit back and say how much we want to live a long life but as GOD grants us those long years and allows us to age we sort of ‘throw it back in HIS face’ by trying to cover it up, by doing things to keep ourselves looking young.

It’s true that in today’s Society, especially in America, that Growing OLDER is not seen as Glamorous, or Beautiful, or Welcomed, or even as ‘A Good Thing.’ Youth and staying Young are the status quo in our World. How sad, because GOD created us to be Young at the beginning of our lives and to Grow OLDER as our years progressed and with that progression of our years, to embrace it fully.

There are countries and Cultures that see Growing OLDER as a Beautiful thing and that the OLDER individuals are Sacred and due total respect because of their experiences in life and their Seasoning, where Growing OLDER is welcomed and looked forward to. We should ALL see it as such and LOVE not only the idea of it but the image of it as well. We should see our facial lines as gifts, our Gray-Streaked hair as Blessings, our Wisdom as GOD’s mark of Genius.

I LOVE Growing OLDER and I embrace it. I see it as Beautiful, Romantic and Sexy. As we Grow OLDER, let’s do ALL that we can to stay healthy and stay around as long as possible but let’s embrace our years of life with confidence and see them as a Gift from GOD, seeing the True BEAUTY in it.

I hope that You Grow OLDER…Gracefully and with Courage.

“You can tell by the lines under my eyes when I Smile that I have been around for awhile…”
